At Altitude between 1,220m – 1,828m above sea level, Lake Mburo National Park is Uganda’s smallest savannah park with ancient rocks of more than 500 million years and a variety of woodlands. With 5 lakes within the park, Wetland habitats take 20% of the park’s surface. There are no elephants in the park.
Biodiversity: 350 bird species include Tabora Cisticola, Coqui Frankolin, Redfaced Barbet and animals such as hippos, hyena, Giraffe, leopard, zebra, impala, eland antelope, buffalo, oribi, Defassa waterbuck, topi and reedbuck. With 13 other lakes in the neighboring areas combined, Mburo is an important birding national park.
